Text 24 Feb 2 notes Lucid dreaming

So I’ve decided to try and learn to lucid dream. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s the ability to KNOW that you’re dreaming WHEN you’re dreaming, giving yourself some control over it. Not that you become god or anything it’s not the matrix but it’s still pretty cool.

There’s actually a pretty extensive wikihow article on it so it’s not total bullshit.

I’ve already hit a big hurdle though. I’m supposed to keep a “dream journal,” write down as much as I can remember of my dreams every morning. I’ve discovered that what I want to do first thing every morning is definitely not THINK and WRITE SHIT DOWN. It’s DENY CONSCIOUSNES and SLEEP FOREVER. I don’t care about lucid dreaming when I’m sleepy. What a conundrum.

I’ve gotten one nights worth of dreams in three nights trying, and it involved being scorpion from mortal combat. and I was in a parking garage.

This is going to be slow-going…

I don’t like saying “I’m sure it’ll be fine.”  I’m never sure.  It feels like a fake sentiment…  How much better does it really make you feel?

Text 11 Feb Dreams

You know those awkward encounters with people you know, but don’t remember their names?  Of course you do.  Everyone does.  I have them all the time and it makes me insane, and I only go out of my way to ASK their name if I’m in a good mood.

Last night I had a goddamn DREAM about one of those encounters.

Nothing magical or dream-like happened.  I was leaving a hallway and I passed some girl on a bench.  As I was walking through the door I glanced at her, she looked up, we made eye contact and I thought I saw recognition so I turned a little.  Then she looked back down and I thought “ok well then I’ll just finish my leaving then.”  As I’m turning back, she noticed that I had been turning around and looked back up.  I start to turn back but she’s looking back down again.  Goes on for like five or six more rounds and then shit is weird because we’re both acutely aware of each others presences at that point but still haven’t met.

Finally she asks “do we know each other?”

“I don’t think so.”

“oh thank god.”

We both chuckle and I finally leave.  Dream about some other shit that’s more interesting but won’t (don’t) remember.

I hate those encounters.  It’s like when you walk towards someone and you both jump from side to side like morons.  But with talking instead of walking.
